Kinderarbeid in Epe?
Daklozenkrant verkoop...
De laatste weken is er weer belangstelling voor de straat- en daklozenkranten in de media. Zo las ik ergens het bericht dat ze in Nijmegen de krant per 1 juli opdoeken bij gebrek aan belangstelling. Ook in andere steden gaat het niet goed met de verkoop van straatjournalistiek. In diverse plaatsen zijn zo weinig colporteurs dat ze gastarbeiders uit Oost Europa werven.
Bij Albert Heijn in Epe fotografeerde ik zo´n moderne gastarbeidster uit Kroatië. Zij probeerde samen met een jongetje (haar zoontje?) Het Daklozenwoord te slijten.
Op zich kan het mij weinig schelen wie kranten verkopen - de vrije pers is belangrijk - maar hier wil ik toch wel enkele vraagtekens bij plaatsen.
Als het al zo moeilijk gaat met de verkoop van de (meestal gesubsideerde) Nederlandse daklozenkranten, hoe kan het dan dat er in Epe wordt gecolporteeerd met een tweetalige krant die in België wordt gemaakt door een uitgever met een dubieuze reputatie? Heeft de gemeente een vergunning voor de verkoop afgegeven?
En hoe zit het met de toezicht bij de verkoop? Hoe schattig ook zo´n straatschoffie... kinderarbeid is toch al jaren geleden afgeschaft in ons land?
