Nieuwe plannen van de artsen
aan de Willem Tellstraat...
Maakte ik mij een tijdje terug zorgen over de plannen om een beeldbepalend pand aan de Quickbornlaan af te breken om plaats te maken voor de uitbreiding van het gezondheidscentrum aan de Willem Tellstraat. Vandaag goed nieuws in De Stentor. Dokter Dennis Boon zegt dat ze een voorkeur hebben om een verdieping bij de praktijk op te zetten. "Ik ben ook Epenaar en wil liever niet dat mooie, oude panden verdwijnen. Ik verwacht ook niet dat dat gaat gebeuren. De vergunning voor een etage er bovenop is een formaliteit en daar zijn we al een poos mee bezig. Voor hiernaast moeten we alles nog regelen, dus ook met de huidige eigenaar en de gemeente."
Dit is natuurlijk een slimme zet van de artsen. De gemeente kan nu moeilijk nee zeggen, want dan komt het tweede plan weer boven tafel: het afbreken van het pand aan de Quickbornlaan. Dan zullen de artsen zeggen... 'U kunt toch niet alles tegenhouden?'
Hoe dan ook: mijn zegen hebben ze. Het voormalige arbeidsbureau is toch al een foeilelijk gebouw en een etage daarbij op doet daar weinig extra afbreuk aan. Dus wat mij betreft, komt die vergunning snel af. Wel een tip... laat even goed naar de funderingen kijken... we zitten niet te wachten op Egyptische toestanden of rampen uit India.
