Mijn twijfels over de Eper Gemeentewoning
zaal veel te klein...
Het gaat, blijkens berichten in De Stentor, niet goed met de verbouwing van de Eper Gemeentewoning. De subsidie van de provincie is nog niet rond en er blijken allerlei bewegingen op de achtergrond te zijn waarbij een partij als de Stichting Welzijn Ouderen geen gebruik gaat maken van het nieuwe centrum.
Wat ik echter helemaal niet hoor in de discussie is het feit dat de nieuwe zaal in het centrum volgens mij veel te klein wordt. Na de verbouwing komt er een zaal met slechts 150 zitplaatsen. Dat lijkt mij veel te klein om als cultureel middelpunt in het dorp te gaan functioneren. Voor echt serieuze voorstellingen en optredens heb je toch wel meer capaciteit nodig.
Wat ik me niet meer precies kan herinneren, wat de geplande capaciteit was ten tijde van de besluitvorming in de gemeenteraad. Mij staat bij dat er destijds sprake was van zo´n 400 tot 450 zitplaatsen. Maar zoals gezegd... dat heb ik niet helemaal goed op mijn netvlies staan. Mocht ondertussen de zaal zijn verkleind of mocht de zaal in de plannen altijd al slechts een capaciteit hebben gehad van 150 zitplaatsen dan vind ik dat een gemiste kans. Epe verdient een fatsoenlijk podium voor culturele optredens en filmvoorstellingen. Daarbij zouden toch tenminste 250 mensen aanwezig moeten kunnen zijn.
