Voorspellende autobiografie?
Geestige samenloop van omstandigheden... (12 juni 2003)
Loopt een oudere man lachend de winkel binnen en overhandigt mij een boek dat hij op de eurotafel buiten vond. 'Zou het familie zijn?', vraagt hij. Ik bekijk het boek - een roman met de treffende titel 'Blij op het puin' - en begin ook te lachen. 'Misschien wel een science fiction roman geschreven in een vorig leven... of een voorspellende biografie van een ver familielid', probeer ik, zoekende naar een verklaring. De man vraagt of hij het boek ook los mag kopen.
De boeken op de tafel mogen vandaag per vijf voor één euro weg. Daarop zeg ik dat ik het boek eerst even wil scannen voor een paar vrienden en een verhaaltje. Nadat de scanner twee plaatjes heeft gemaakt overhandig ik hem het bewuste boek en wens hem er veel plezier mee.
Toch heel grappig om een dag na het debat over de Regeringsverklaring een boek met deze prachtige titel tegen te komen, geschreven door... W.P. Balkenende.
