De gezelligste man van het land...

Jongen... wat fijn weer eens iets van je te horen. Ik was je al helemaal vergeten, want op jouw beleidsterrein is het al jaren erg stil. Maar wat las ik nou toch in de Volkskrant? Je wilt meer respect. Ja, het is echt te gek voor woorden dat we zomaar 'meneer' tegen je zeggen. De burgers in dit land zijn inderdaad helemaal de weg kwijt. Waar moet het toch naar toe met dit land?
Gelukkig heb je een fijn kantoor aan het Plein in Den Haag waar je ondergeschikten nog vol overtuiging 'excellentie' tegen je zeggen. Je noemt dat 'fantastisch'. Het kan natuurlijk ook echt niet dat jouw chauffeur - waar je per slot van rekening de hele dag mee optrekt - jou bij de voornaam noemt. Stel je voor... de wereld op zijn kop. Je zegt "er mag ook best enige afstand zijn". Dat je zonder je chauffeur helemaal geen afstanden aflegt, is misschien nog niet helemaal in je opgekomen.
Ik wil echter de beroerdste niet zijn en best een beetje met je denken. Wat vind je van het idee als iedereen met jouw opvattingen in een aparte wijk in Den Haag gaat wonen? Kun jij je vinden in de naam Excellentiewijk? We zullen jullie dan niet meer lastigvallen. Jullie mogen uiteraard vrij door het land reizen - als je dan nog een chauffeur kunt vinden - maar wellicht is het wel verstandig de raampjes van de auto potdicht te houden, want je weet maar nooit wat er zomaar gezegd kan worden.
Zal dat voor jou een groot verschil gaan uitmaken? Ik denk het niet. Jouw autoritaire ideeën geven mij de indruk, dat je de laatste veertig jaar niet meer uit het raam hebt gekeken. Wij zullen jou niet missen en naar ik verwacht jij ons ook niet.
