De vaste klant
Gemiste kans...
Staat een man het raamgedicht van Plint te fotograferen dat wij hier op de winkeldeur hebben hangen. Ik doe de deur open om een praatje met hem te maken.
De man komt binnen en zegt met een dubbele dranktong "goh, een boekhandel... dat vind ik leuk, want ik houd erg van boeken." Omdat ik de man zo snel mogelijk wil lozen, leg ik uit dat we een gesloten antiquariaat ben. De man merkt terecht op "maar u liet mij toch binnen?" Dus probeer ik het opnieuw met de mededeling dat de boeken allemaal privé collectie zijn. "Oh dus u hebt geen boeken over popmuziek?" Ik meld de man dat wij inderdaad geen boeken over popmuziek hebben. "En poëzie?" Helaas moet ik de man ook op dat vlak teleurstellen.
Om mijn verbale pogingen hem naar buiten te krijgen kracht bij te zetten open ik de winkeldeur. "Maar uw winkel is dus wel open?", dringt hij nog een keer aan. Ik leg nogmaals uit dat ik een gesloten antiquariaat ben en uitsluitend aan vaste klanten lever. "Oh maar hoe word ik dan vaste klant? Ik ben wel heel rijk. Ik ben miljonair!", zegt de man terwijl hij naar buiten loopt. Glimlachend doe ik de deur achter hem dicht, maar er blijft toch iets van binnen knagen...
