Herhaling van de geschiedenis?
De nacht van 9 - 10 november...
Weet iemand nog wat precies 66 jaar geleden gebeurde? In de nacht van 9 op 10 november 1938 vond de kristalnacht in Duitsland plaats. De Nazi's gooiden massaal ruiten in bij Joodse medeburgers, kalkten leuzen op hun huizen en winkels en staken synagogen in brand... Kleine fanatieke groepen leefden zich helemaal uit op de Joden in Duitsland.
Vanacht kende Nederland ook een kleinschalige Kristalnacht. In Uden ging een moslimschool in vlammen op. Neo-nazi's - kaal- en leeghoofdigen - hebben hun handtekening achtergelaten in de vorm van teksten en symbolen. En alsof dat niet genoeg is, is er ook brand gesticht in in de Pauluskerk in Boxmeer. En dat alles terwijl er net een slachtoffer van een religieuze moord is gecremeerd én er twee parlementariërs zwaar bewaakt ondergedoken zitten.
Toen ik dit nieuws vernam legde ik onbewust de link met de Kristalnacht. Ik schrok toen ik me realiseerde dat het ook nog dezelfde datum is. Wanneer gaan wij in Nederland de deuren van moslims bekladden, gooien we hun (winkel)ruiten in en kunnen we boekverbrandingen verwachten? Of wanneer zal de volgende religieuze rituele moord plaatsvinden en wanneer wordt het homomonument opgeblazen (is al mee gedreigd op het ondertussen gesloten weblog CyberJihad)?
Wat is er in vredesnaam met Nederland aan de hand? Er zal naar beide kanten hard opgetreden moeten worden om verdere escalatie te voorkomen. De geest moet terug in de fles.
