Vertrouwen in Europa
Leve de Euro...
Wat een ongelofelijke Zembla aflevering afgelopen avond. Hoewel mijn hoofd er helemaal niet bij was, luisterde ik met een half oor...
Een ex-directeur van Nederlandse Bank doet doodleuk verslag over een vergadering over de invoering van de Euro waarin de toenmalige de minister-president Lubbers een aantal keren de vraag stelt: weten de politici wel waar ze mee bezig zijn?
De oud-minister van Economische Zaken Andriessen gaf na de vergadering bilateraal het antwoord op de vraag van Lubbers: "ze hebben geen idee".
Ik ben ontluisterd door dit nieuws. Het bevestigt het idee dat ik al jaren heb: Europa is een machine van enerzijds ambtenaren die steeds nieuwe beleidsterreinen en zaken verzinnen (inherent aan alle bureaucratische organisaties... dus ook binnen het bedrijfsleven... zie verzekeraars, banken etc.) anderzijds ambitieuze politici die de groei van Europa koppelen aan de groei van het eigen ego.
Vooral de grote landen maken de dienst uit. Als klein land mag je dan in theorie de mogelijkheid hebben om zaken te beïnvloeden, in de praktijk komt daar weinig tot niets van terecht. Meest recente voorbeeld is het met voeten treden van de afspraken van het Stabiliteitspact.
Daarover zei Bolkestein gisteravond in Nova: Wat moet je nog geloven van Europese afspraken als je ziet hoe het stabiliteitspact met voeten wordt getreden?
Mocht ik nog twee twijfelende hersencellen hebben, dan is het nu definitief: IK STEM VOL OVERTUIGING TEGEN DE EUROPESE GRONDWET OM EEN SIGNAAL TE GEVEN DAT ER NAAR DE BEVOLKING VAN EUROPA MOET WORDEN GELUISTERD!
